The Carpenter’s Axe
The Carpenter’s Axe model is a rough and ready tool designed for work. Whether your adventures find you bushcrafting, hiking, camping, or trail clearing, this one is a great buddy to bring along! This model features a straight bit, so along with all the normal jobs that you might expect of an axe this size, the Carpenter’s Axe is also the spoon carver’s friend.
This handsome axe has an overall handle length of approximately 21-inches, with a head weight of 1lb. 8oz. We also offer a smaller version, with a 15-inch handle and a 1lb. 4oz. head. Each head is handforged from 4142 Chromoly steel, heat treated to hold an edge and be extremely tough. The poll is also hardened and can be used as a hammer.
Each handle is made from American Hickory, with Natural, Chestnut, or Chocolate Brown color options, all being oil finished.
Each Carpenter’s Axe comes with a handmade leather sheath, made especially for the axe that it comes with. The Carpenter’s Axe comes standard with a pushbutton/cord closure-style sheath (which we call the Carpenter’s-style Sheath).
For a cool way to keep up with what year model your Carpenter’s Axe is, each head is stamped with the year that the axe was finished. As with all of our Wolf Valley Forge axes, the Carpenter’s Axe comes with a full lifetime warranty and free repairs, if it’s ever needed down the trail.
