The Chipper
The Chipper is especially made for those of you who think the Trail Axe is too big and the Timber Pup is too small! As a medium-sized belt axe, The Chipper is very pleasant to use and handle, and is great to carry with you on your belt, in your bag, or under the truck seat.
The Chipper has a handle length of approximately 13 inches. Heads are approximately 5 3/4-inches in length, with a cutting edge that’s around 3 1/4-inches, with a head weight of about 1lb. 2oz. The head is handforged from 4142 Chromoly steel, heat treated to take a razor-sharp edge and hold it! The poll is also hardened and can be used as a hammer.
Handles are made from American Hickory, and you can choose from Natural, Chestnut-dyed or Chocolate Brown color options, all three being oil finished. Each Chipper comes with a Standard Leather Belt Sheath (or choose one of our other custom options), made especially for the axe that it comes with.
For a cool way to keep up with your Chipper Axe “is,”year model”, each head is stamped with the year that the axe was finished. As with all of our Wolf Valley Forge axes, the Chipper Axe comes with a full lifetime warranty and free repairs, if it’s ever needed down the trail.
